I met Alex when we partook in a Secret Food Tour during our weekend visit to Berlin. Not only was the food fantastic, but we appreciated Alex’s insight into this multicultural city and its history. After the tour, Alex, a resident of Berlin since birth, shared his perspective on what you should know about this evolving city and its can’t miss sites and eats.

As a local, how would you describe Berlin? Multicultural and progressive, Berlin has a social and cultural space/niche for everybody.
What is one thing you would like visitors to know about Berlin? Berlin is [a] mecca of underground techno music.
In your opinion, what is the one thing visitors can’t miss on a trip to Berlin? Kebabs, museums and a techno bunker.
What’s something that most visitors to Berlin wouldn’t think to do or see but you would suggest they do or see? Eat authentic Turkish food, e.g. in the district of Neukölln, since the city has the largest Turkish community in Germany (approximately 200-300 thousand Turkish people or people of Turkish descent).
Next time you find yourself in Berlin, get to know the city, food, and culture on a Secret Food Tour with Alex – you won’t be disappointed!
